Sounds like it should be ok, as far as the exhaust goes, as long as it is MOT legal then it should be ok.
Best bet is to bring it along to the next trial (Goosemoor) and have one of our scrutineers look it over.

Thanks George.......... it sits on wheels that are of a 'legal offset and suitable tyres, so should be ok.... nothing has been trimmed off the arches etc..... one other thing i'm interested in though, from what i can make out, the alrc rules state that 'the exhaust may be modified'...... i have removed the cat, and centre silencer..... but was considering removing a chunk of the rear exit pipe to make it les vulnerable to getting caught on stuff..... not sure if that sort of mod is allowed though..... |

Ron,
as long as it hasn't had too much of a lift (2 inches is the
max I think). Then it sounds like it would probably be Class 4,
but without actually seeing the vehicle it is hard to be certain.

My 90 at the Mendips.......
Hello all, i have just joined your forum, i'm looking for advice straight from the horses mouth as it were
with regard to what class my 90 might end up in at the Mendips.
When i got it, it sat quite high thanks to HD springs that were fitted from new, added to the fact that i
don;t think it's ever carried anything heavy, (ex NT), I then
proceeded to fit a D44 standard size but HD front bumper, and homke made winch tray with winch, and steering gaurd....
Well, as you can imagine the front sagged a little, so i fitted 1 inch longer front springs, and Range Rover classic
rear springs to try and gain back the lost height at the front,
and softer back end for better use of the articulation, i have fitted what are proported to be standard length
Shocks....i am hoping that this will result in my being in the standard class, it has 235 85 insa turbo sahara's fitted on modulars...
I would appreciate anyones input as to what class i'd be in.... i do compete in local club trials, but am aware that the mendips is
quite strict when it comes to such things....
Yours in anticipation of lots of replies...
Ron. |

Buying a new one!
We have decided that Fred is to be replaced.
The question is....
If we get a TD5 or a TDCi with Traction Control HDC and those bits, will we still be a Class 4? We would still come, but would look more carefully at the less Non-Damaging stages. |

Jack,
Afraid I can't help as I have a Defender 90, but I'll ask around and get back to you.

Newbie Needs Help!
I recently bought my first land rover, a 1988 2.5 NA Diesel. She's shabby but seems solid. Can't moan as I pad 1K for her!
Both front footwells a wrotten, the drivers being more hole than well.
I have bought a replacement section for the drivers footwell, are these difficult to fit?
If so, any tips or help that can be offered is greatly appreciated.
About me, I live in Westbury and am ex-RAF, that's where my love of Land Rovers comes from!
I'm married with three sons - time limited for Land Rover tinkering.
Cheers. |

Hello...Moving to Wiltshire
Hi all, the family and I will be moving to Wiltshire in the next month so I looked up the local club.
Currently a member of Suffolk Land Rover Owners Club and part of the
Suffolk Rover Rescue crew. New job in Swindon forces move as commuting is rather impracticable.
Once down there I shall Join the club and hopefully join you in laning and other activities.
In case your wondering, I own two 300TDi Discovery's. A 1994 5 door that is currently off the road to be repaired etc.
The second is my daily ride and a 1997 3 door..with a few necessary mods! |
